How will the sound quality of CD’s compare on a BD Player versus a 19 year old Pioneer PD-F1009 300 Disk changer?

I have been listening to my CD’s using a BD player but I picked up the Pioneer for a song. If I use a optical cable with the Pioneer and my eight year old Denon AVR1912 will I notice much difference?
Thanks.

There shouldn't be any difference whatsoever.

Then the $10 disk changer would be a no brainer.

Just install all my CDs, make a list and I am set.
Unless the changer mechanism craps out/needs service like they do in time....but agreed if digital output then the transport doesn't matter much....and really either do the built-in dacs....

No sound difference at all because its the AVR that's doing the D/A conversion based on how you are connections. That being said, even if you compared the DAC outputs of both players by running analog connections to the AVR, I seriously doubt you would be able to hear differences.
