How to use the TV guide on my Pio 1150

So does the guide that seems to be a big part of channel navigation on the Pio need to be used? Does it replace the guide already on my Comcast cable box?
If so, how the heck do I set it up, have looked at the manual and am still confused.
Please help with a detailed explanation.
Thanks everyone. (Thoroughly enjoying the round and round of colors on the burn in DVD!)

are you using cable card? If not you would still use the guide with the cable box. If you use basic ot ota you can use it. Skip the setup otherwise other than the clock. The instructions on page 32 are very detailed. I use mine with OTA only.

to reiterate what Bandphan said...

Only if you're using an antenna for your TV reception. If you're using cable, it'll never work. You must use Comcast's box and guide

If you are using Comcast cable, use their guide.

Can't help you there. Good luck.

My Protron set received signals from some mysterious source overnight that would populate the grid. It didn't work the first day but once it got the first OTA update. it worked fine from there on in. Again, this was using an antenna.

It acutally works with the cable card and basic, but as you stated if you use their box use that guide.

Thanks

Thanks to all responding...the consensus is that the Comcast guide supercedes the on air one. I'm sure I'll have more questions later.

Peace
