how to upgrade from a 56"....

i currantly have a 56" rear projection jvc... my wife and i have been talking about getting a newer set but we are at 56" now and we deffinatly dont want to go smaller but there isnt to many options for larger (that are semi-affordabe) the mitsu 73" being a good canadit... but my wife thinks she wants a plasma/lcd...

anyhow just looking for some input... maybe a front projector... but i dont have a good place to mount it though... :-(

I agree with the wife if you can afford it a 65" Plasma would be a great step up.

Don't do FP unless you are doing a home theater room. It's just not practical for a living room IMO.

i just looked at bestbuy.com they have the panny 65" plasma (TH-65PZ850U) for 4999.95 thats not really that bad.. its $1000 off... and 18mo no intrest... hummm.... if only i didnt get a new garage door and patio this summer...

i did check the new panny line up on there web site and i didnt see anything over 50 some inch.... no more 65"???

I use a front projector full time as my TV. It came with an extra bulb so I have never had to buy one. TV gets used about 5 hours per day over the last 3 years. We love it. But you do have to be able to keep the room dark. If you like watching TV with the window open, then it's not for you. A good 1080p FP start at about $2000 and can give you over 100" of viewing goodness. The $2000 it saves you over a 65" plasma would keep you in bulbs for a lifetime.
(Note: The room does not need to be pitch dark. Just not lit up like a greenhouse)

The 106" 1.3 gain screen I have also came with the projector. It was a nice bundle. Projector, screen, bulb, celing mount, 25' HDMI cable and a 25' component set all for just under $2k. A little shopping can go a long way.
