How to replace a power fuse in Marantz SR7000

Hi,
I'm new and have much experience with Marantz. I was fine when I hooked up my Marantz SR7000 to my Sony DVD player with regular RCA cables. Then I decided to switch the cable to Digital Optical Coaxial...when suddenly my receiver frozed at "DVD-DIRECT" on the display panel. I tried to turn to other source such as TV, CD, etc...all the buttons..but nothing was working. I then decided to turn off the receiver, but nothing happened...then my final
thing to do was to UNPLUG...when I plugged the system back...the Standby
light came on, but I couldn't turn on the receiver. I can power up the
DVD and VCR...but receiver won't power up. Does that mean I have a
fuse that burst or is there something else. I'm very new to this unit
(Marantz SR7000) which I purchased used. It was working fine until I
switch the wire to Digital Optical Coaxial. I'm also blur on the
remote...it would not turn receiver on/off...but just reads "AMP" on the remote. HHHHEEEELLLLLPPPPP!!!

Blown fuse.......

If you connected the cable correctly, its had to believe you blew a fuse?
If the receiver is out of warranty....... remove power and take off the cover. I can't find a manual to download....... so I have nothing to work with.
What cable did you use, and where is it connected? You have several optical inputs. Remove all the DVD cables and start over.

That receiver is quite old, so I'd say it is definitely out of warranty... An excellent receiver none-the-less. Not sure if there are any user accessible fuses on that unit. Disconnect all your speaker wires at the receiver to make sure you don't have any shorting going on.

You may have to reset the remote to get it back to the original codes. It should turn the unit on and off. Assuming an RC2000, the main ON/OFF buttons should work regardless of what mode you are in on the remote. If not, they may have been reprogrammed.

It doesnt sound like a fuse at all..

Unplug all your inputs/outputs along with the reciever from the wall, and then plug the reciever back into the wall and turn it on (with the inputs and outputs still disconnected)

If it doesnt do anything still, we can go from there. Dont bother taking the cover off just yet. Especially if you dont have a clue what your doing in there.

I'm not sure what had happened. The system power itself up and the remote is back to turning the unit On/Off like it should. I didn't do anything at all..just left everything as is, except I've removed all the cables but left the speaker cables. When I saw the power came back on after a few hours, I immediately turn the "DVD-Direct" to Tuner...heard music came on...immediately turn the unit off and plug back all the RCA cables. Remote at the time was not working with the unit...I left that alone, but today it's working...it turns the unit on/off and complies to the DVD, Tunner and all other button on the remote. Not sure what happened there....must be an automatic reset or something.

Probably a brain freeze. Something in the unit got fubar'd when it tried to switch to the digital signal. Unplugging it for a while will reset things. Happens.

First, the optical cable isn't coax and it doesn't conduct electricity. Are the DVD player and receiver plugged into different circuits? If they are and there's a wiring issue, you may have removed/disturbed/added a grounding point if one of the circuits was added and installed incorrectly. Best practice is to turn off all equipment when you make/break connections. Go to the Marantz website and look for your model, download the manual and look for instructions for doing a hard reset. You'll need to do the setup again but if it brings it back to life, that's not too bad.
