How to Match Polk SDA 2 FLoor Standing Speakers

A search for SDA2 came up with nothing so I'm casting for ideas. The SDA2 speakers have twin 6" drivers which operate in phase for Base and a dome tweater. They operate as a matched pair with a passive 12 inch resonator and crossover which drives midrange in phase on one driver and out of phase into the opposing speaker to throw the sound. As a pair they make a very smooth acoustic image and sounded great with the old 3 channel surround. Now I have a 5.1 amp. If I hook up the center that came with the polk FX surround speakers, most of the sound comes through the center and sounds like a clock radio. The components missing from this system are a descent Center and subwoofer. How does one find a matching center channel when the Side channels are obsolete and nobody even knows what they are? They aren't even in the Polk site.

Matching center channel speaker means having the center channel's tweeter to match the main speakers. Look for similar make/material tweeter. But ultimately, regardless of tweeter material or types of speakers, listen to them and decide if the integration is seamless. How to properly listen to speakers? Go to http://www.soundvisiontech.com. Good Luck!

Matching surrounds/center channel

My friend has a pair of SDA IIB's and to match them we put a polk sc400 center channel (2 6 1/2" drivers and tweeter) and Monitor 5+ Jr. for the rears. They have a 6 1/2 with a 6 1/2 pasive radiator. Make sure to look for the + Jr. because there is other monitor 5's out there. The center channels go for about $175 on ebay and the monitor 5+ about $135. I hope that helps. I have a pair of SDA I's and I love them. Good luck.
