How to lock menu on LG TV?

I have an LG TV, not sure what model since I bought it used, but it's a fairly recent one from what I can tell. My kids keep playing around with the options and changing the colors, aspect ratio, etc. Is there any way I can lock the side buttons so that they can only change the channel and volume? Or at least lock them out of the options and picture/sound menus? So far all I've managed to figure out was how to lock the channel scan and ratings menus.

lock the kids up:D The answer is in that. Have you downloaded the manual and gone thru it?

I have no idea what kind of TV it is, other than that it's an LG. Is the "product number" the model of the TV?

Yep, I was able to find a manual for it, but there doesn't seem to be any info on it. I did a Google search for it but only got results pertaining to how to DISABLE the lock on the side panel buttons, and none on how to enable it. I figure if I hid the remote they'd only be able to change the channels and volume.

By a 40 universal remote like the URC RF20 and change the menu button to a blank and hide the menu key in one device pages.

A universal could be programmed so the kids can't access the menu or Just hide the remote or deal with the kids.

No, no, no. I want to lock the menu button on the side of the TV. They know how to switch the input to the DVD player and PlayStation, but I don't need them turning everything green.

The only other thing that you might be able to try is to hold the menu button on the remote for 5-10 seconds to see if it will do a lockout, this works for some of theirs and others dislays, worth a shot. If not its time to whip those kids into shape:)

Ok, here's the deal. I just realized that the kids aren't just messing with the settings, but apparently they are reverting to certain settings when the TV is turned off and back on. The color, sound, etc. The thing that irritates me the most is that the aspect ratio setting keeps reverting to 16:9, and I constantly have to set it back to "set by program" every time I turn the TV on. I don't know why it does this.
