How to increase bass at listening position?

Yo guys, here's the system: http://forums.audioholics.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27071
I have the subwoofer set up and placed 'perfectly', but here's the thing. The amount of bass I hear at the chair is not as much as I'd like. But if I simply turn up the bass, it doesn't sound as good, since there is then just huge amounts of bass which I still can't hear very well.
It's kind of hard to explain... but is there anything easy I can do, not to increase bass in general, but to increase the bass I hear at the listening position?
Here are the only [resized] pics I have of the room atm.

You need a new sub, that one can not keep up with your other system components. I had one just like that I got in a deal, I buy and sell speakers and electronics all the time, and I test everything I get for capabilities and referencing. I live in an apartment and I set that sub up in my room and it was not enough for my demands either. I would look at HSU, Onix, or possibly SVS for another sub. Onix has the X-sub, which happens to be an 8", but it would easily outperform the yammy 8". If it were me I would get the HSU STF-2, another sub I have owned and sold. It isn't a monster sub, but more than adequate for a small room like yours.

You need to experiment with moving the sub around the room to different locations. Placement is critical and makes a difference. What happens when you walk around? I bet the volume changes.

Right, very much so. Should I follow the article on this site and move it to the listening posistion and crawl around?

Edit: I'll do that and report back later.

Move your chair closer to the back wall.

Place sub on your chair, then check possible positioins where you can locate the sub (crawling around). Locate the sub in the position where bass sounds the strongest. What Sheep said should help too.

The sub is definitely the weak link in your setup. My first sub was a Yammie and it was less than impressive.

All of the above. You can make the best of it by ensuring it's in the best location possible, but an upgrade is your best route (combined with properly placing that upgrade).

So when placing the sub in say "the chair" what if it is a front firing sub with a port on the side? Which way should you orient the sub before you begin to crawl around?

I'd put it in the chair facing the front of the room (where your system is). You also appear to be sitting pretty close to the center of the room, which looks somewhat square. This is the worst spot to sit for bass in a square-ish room.
