Hi there,

I'm new here, just bought a Denon AVR-1905 receiver. Currently, I'm using coaxial/s-video for one of my DVD players. Can I use the VCR hookup for my other DVD player? Right now, I only get analog audio from VCR hookup, can I make it digital if i use optical cable/s-video?
Thanks,

David

Just connect your second dvd to the TB/DBS input of your receiver using either coax video or s-video.

Tip: You should also be using the Component Video connections if your TV has that capability. Your Denon will convert either Video and S-Video to Component Video. If your TV doesn't have Component Video (red/blue/green input jacks, stick with S-video which is 95% as good anyway)

As for your VCR, you have no choice, use the Video Out/Audio L/R coax RCA output. It will stay analogue. I've never seen any consumer VCR have digital audio capability.
