How to connect a subwoofer to receiver?

I own a Denon AVR-1000 and am looking into purchasing a sub of craigslist. Specifically the sub is a JBL E 250P. The problem is, my receiver has no sub out on the back. It does have mono and center pre outs as well as rear, center, and front speaker connection spots though. I was wondering if it's at all possible to connect these two?

Thanks!

You could use speaker level connection or change your antique receiver for newer one with bass management - I'm sure even on tight budget something decent could be found on 2nd hand market for $50-100

Yep, those are pretty much your choices. Speaker level input will mean you will have to adjust the sub's crossover manually because your receiver has no bass management and connected this way, even if it did, it wouldn't apply. Long term, I'd say upgrading to a newer model would be useful for a host of new features, but you can certainly get what you have to work.
