How to change the height of floorstanders?

Hello all,

I'm looking for a way to raise the height of some floorstanding speakers by about 10cm to bring the tweeter up ear level. Does anyone have any ideas of how this can be done?

I've considered going to a gravestone maker and asking him to cut some polished black granite to the desired size and putting some spikes on the bottom.

If they have adjustable feet, use them to tilt the speakers back a little so that they aim at ear level at the listening position. If you don't like the sound, then try what you've suggested.

These speakers are used with my PC so they need to be a bit higher than what most people would use because I listen to them sitting on an office chair at a desk.

Just make some riser pads, they would be like a subdude for your speakers which would also serve as a decoupler.

Please excuse my stupidity but I'm new to hifi and have no idea what any of that means.

there is a DIY riser tutorial in the subwoofer section on the blu-ray forum that also has lots of pics. I'd post a link to it, but blu-ray.com has been blocked from work so I can't. You need to make it out of the right material or it won't be effective as a decoupler.

:D That's funny.

I had a look for it but couldn't find it. Is there any chance you could post the link when your not at work? Many thanks.
