How to attach speakers to speaker stand?

Just bought a seven speaker Arendal 1723S with some VTI speaker stands. The stands just have a plain top plate. The plate is smaller than the speaker. Even just the slightest bumb causes the speaker to shift or spin. Any recommendations on attaching the speaker to the stand? Double sided tape, velcro, rubber pads, or something else?

Simplest is the Blue Museum Putty.

I am fond of using the adhesive black rubber non-slip grippy dots on the top plate with a foam monitor pad on top of that. This really helps protect the Speaker from any scratches.

In almost 5 years using 36" VTI and now some 32" Monolith stands, only once did The Lady almost take a Speaker down.

If non of that works for you...
Drill through the stands and bolt your Speakers to them! ;) (Of course resale value will be destroyed, and you will absolutely void any warranty from Arendal. :p )

Yep...Blue Putty.
Just put 5 balls in a domino pattern...one on each corner, one in the middle.
Adjust and press down on the top...after awhile they will adhere real well...to the point you have to twist the speaker to break the seal if you want to take them off. The balls also keep the bottom of the speaker from actually touching the stands, so no scratching or scuffing.
Those Arendals are even heavier than my white painted RSL's, so use big balls.....hey, I found a reason to say "big balls". :)

Definitely NOT velcro :) Blu-tack as mentioned, aka museum putty. I have used drawer liner in a pinch as well.

Blu tac putty or museum putty works well for such

I used adhesive rubber dots like Ryanosaur and my Paradigms never moved on the VTI stands for years. Museum putty is easier to remove though and won't mar the surface.

Can't find the Blu-Tack locally. Is it similar to this mounting putty? It says this is repositionable. My wife had some of the clear museum gel for securing glass/crystal, but it wasn't very stiff and the speakers moved as it slowly squished flat over an hour or so.

Its similar....just roll a bunch of the "tabs" they give you together into balls. For speakers as heavy as yours make the balls around nickel sized.
If you need to take the speakers back off at any point, don't just pull up on them....twist them slowly while gently pulling up. It is possible to rip a chunk of paint off the speaker if you just yank them off.

Here's an idea. Ratchet tie downs. And use something like wood on the corners so the straps don't damage the speaker.

Blue tax putty as stated. Other thing I did was fill my stands with well dried pea gravel. Gave mass to the stands so they won’t move quite as easily. Both together make for a rather solid setup.

Yep, just isn't dyed blue is the biggest difference in using both types myself. You do have to squish it down; I make little patties in four corners of the speaker/stand and then press on the speaker with my body weight to help get it nicely in place/secure.

Ended up getting a different product at Hobby Lobby. Product is called "Tacky". Pretty much seemed the same as the putty used for hanging posters etc. Seems to work pretty well. Gave it some test bumps and the speakers and stand moved as one unit.
