How much is too much for a decent speaker system?

I'm absolutely filthy stinking rich with absolutely nothing better to spend my money on so I was going to get this setup imported from England.

http://www.luxuryhifi.com/hifi/systems/f/hfsys03f.htm

I don't think this includes speakers, but I was planning on a 23.7 speaker setup. Probably all EgglestoneWorks Ivy's, and then buying some special 25,000 watt subs from the roadies who work for Man O' War (Still holds guinness book record for loudest band right?).

To be honest, I don't really know anything about speakers, but all of my rich friends have these speakers with funny names like Klipsch and B&W, but they said they only spent like $100,000. So hopefully this setup will really impress them.

On the CD player, I was especially impressed by the fact that they stained something green. I'm not quite sure what this thing did in the first place, but apparently green does a better job at absorbing sound than normal silver or black. I figure this alone is worth an extra $25,000.

Now, how big of an area will I need for these speakers? My friends all have these "custom made" home theaters. I think I will just go out and buy an existing theater. Or maybe a sports stadium, I haven't decided yet.

Anyhow, any input on how I can spend more money? For some reason, I still feel like I am being a little cheap... I wonder if I can get everything undercoated with gold, with a platinum plating over that... Will that increase sound quality? I know monster says it does.

Thanks for any help.

Ok, Ok, so it's not original. My original purpose was to call attention to the turntable that was stained green. This sounded like the most concentrated and potent form of snake oil ever invented. Maybe there is some truth behind it though?

(edit) my apologies.... I thought I was making it rather obvious (that i was joking), but I suppose this kind of humor does become old rather fast to the more seasoned members. In my ignorance I completely forgot the "Steam Vent" forum. May this post suffer a quick and painless decent into the depths of the audioholics forums....

The transport mechanism on the Wadia is stained green to absorb the red laser light. It's pointless, but it can't do any harm. I love how their hi fi system is all Made in the USA. The Wadia gear is from Saline, MI (right by me!) and the Boulder gear is from Boulder, CO. Check out the Boulder and Wadia websites though. It's cool stuff, thought rediculous.

"all of my rich friends have these speakers with funny names like Klipsch and B&W, but they said they only spent like $100,000."

Signature 800s are $20K, and even a Klipschorn is a lot less money than that. Where'd the rest of the money go? :)

For future reference, throw out names like JM Lab Grande Utopia Bes, or Genesis 350s. They are a bit closer to the $100K mark.

A set of B&W Nautilus will run you 40k and require 8 monoblocks or 4 stereo amplifiers to run them, 100k...what's that

8 Krell FPB 700cx @14,000 a piece= $112,000

I don't know- I though it was funny. :)

As to the posed question, no amount is too much, if you can afford it. You only live once (probably) and you can't take it with you (so far as we know).

Or you could use two of Krell's Master Reference Amps (MRA).
Check out the guy standing between them!

(Still holds guinness book record for loudest band right?).
Wikipedia.org claims 129.5Db's during their 'Spectacle of Might' tour.

Guiness's online records don't have a "loudest band" listed (it may be in a print version however), but they do have a 'Loudest Drummer' record which is held by Jéróme Dehèdin of The Jerome experience, not Donny Hamzik of Manowar.
