How many woofers can most av receivers support?

In my ideal future home theatre set up I hope to have 2 powered sub woofers on both sides of the (currently non existent) plasma tv, I was just wondering how many av receivers support more than one sub woofer?

I find that having one woofer doesn't feel symmetrical so I'd like 2..... and a job ;)

I would think it would be unlimited since the AVR just outputs the signal to the subwoofer itself. For the most part that is; since most subs have their own amp on them.

Now when you run splits off the signal I'm not sure if it weakens the signal or not. I'm hoping someone else with more experience than I can answer your that.

You can run as many as you want. I daisy chain my 4 subs.

Is that because your system doesn't play loud enough with 'only' two?:D:D
What I am doing this week is run the subs for my towers of the line out from my main subs. Next week is another story. Do think I need more bass or what?

To me bass is like boost on an engine...keep going till you break something.

Your system doesn't need more of anything.:D
When I last heard your setup, it was like being punched in the chest, and paint dust was coming off the walls and ceiling. (not exaggerating)
