Just how does a DVD player read the disk? I know a laser beam "reads" the data, but does the disk always spin at the same speed? And what can cause a player to skip forward or backward on a DVD disk besides reading debris on the disk? I have noticed my DVD player will occasionally skip forward a few scenes-is there anything wrong with the player? It seems to stop once I clean the disk I am viewing.
