How do rate this offer ?

I have decided to upgrade my home entertainment level by getting an AVR and speakers set but I only want to pay 600$ or less . Not much I know but I don't want to start big .

I have been searching the markets for 3 days and today I could see this offer and I found it tempting .

The offer is :

Denon AVR X500 + Pure Acoustics Supernova 5.1 set

for 420 $ with one year warranty and for 465 $ with 3 years warranty .


I have tried the sound of the set and found it very nice but I am new in this area so I need to hear it from the experts .


How do you find this offer and would you recommend something else ?

Short answer: I would skip this offer.

The speakers brand doesn't seem like a solid company to me, just a bunch of re-branded Chinese products nothing else could explain wide selection of products of main office address in residential home.
Denon is a solid brand, but this model is very low-end and I would skip it in flavor of possibly refub or used mid-range model.

Denon is nice but itis a low end receiver. Not bad in itself but it does limit future growth and speaker options. If you can live with that, fine.

As for the speakers, I've never heard of them. I'd b ewary. Sometimes (most times) you get what you pay for.

So you're saying I should find better speakers brand and get maybe two and get the rest speakers later when I find the budget to do so .

I might do so if the speakers brand pure acoustics is not of good reputation .


For the AVR : can you please explain how it would " limit future growth and speaker options "

It may not have enough of the inputs you need and you might wind up with speakers that require more clean power than it can deliver and you cannot add an external power amp to compensate for that.
