There are an up and down "select" button right by the "Amp" button...Press it up and the screen on the remote will show "zone2" now press "standby"...do this once more for zone 3, then press up once more to return to normal. Hope that helps. If you don't use the remote to power up the reciever after you do this, zone 2 and 3 will turn back on every time.
