Just got my new HT setup, and need to know how I hook up all my
powered sub's

Receiver: Denon AVR-3806
DVD: Denon DVD-2910

Front stage: Definitive Tech BP-7001SC x2
Center: Definitive Tech C/L/R 3000 x1
Side Surrounds: Definitive Tech BPVX x2
Rear Surrounds: Definitive Tech BPVX x2
Powered subs: Definitive Tech Supercube Referance x2

So looks like I need 5 sets of RCA sub outs, What the best way to do this.
The AVR-3806 only has 1 RCA sub out

Thanks

You better hope your subs allow daisy chaining.

Either that, ot you're gonna need a heckuva lot of "Y" connectors to hook 'em all in parallel and pray the combined load isn't too low for the LFE output to handle.

Or, you could run the speakers as full range, set the receiver to "no sub" and use the speakers to handle the sub work via the speaker rubs themselves. IOW, no dedicated LFE channel.

If you do get them all to work, good luck in taming all the room interactions you're gonna be facing...

Do the subs have a pre-in and out? You can daisy chain them together without needing a Y that way. I would probably run the mains full range, keep the LFE channel with the two subs and set the rest of them to small.

Good idea. Two, maybe three subs isn't a problem.

Five is another matter entirely.

...and when you can move them around where they need to be - NOT tied to main speaker positions.

If it were me I would bother connecting the LFE inputs on your 7001SCs or your CLR center. If memory serves me correctly they will see an LFE signal off of speaker level input. Now if it were me I would set your crossover point at about 60 HZ for your fronts and run your subs below 60hz. If you really want to do it right I would suggest:
http://www.velodyne.com/velodyne/products/product.aspx?ID=15&sid=781t451f
Use that for the EQ on your subs. Full real time balancing for your subs. This will help correctly for any room issues from running dual supercubes. If you don't want to run that just use the preouts on your subs to jump from one to the other.

Another option would be to set your fronts and centers to large. Then run the Front and Center Preouts to the speakers. Set their highpass crossover to something like 120.

The main question is:
Is your goal to use thier built on subs as a dedicated bass frequency channel or to augment your front and center soundstage? With having dual supercubes I would use the built on woofers to augment the front soundstage.

DefTech powered units have 120hz X-over to internal sub. Denon only allows .1 LFE signal through Sub Out. Keep it simple. I was planning the same speaker setup for my next HT project and this is the way I was planning the configuration. Your L/R will get plenty of use with this setup.

7001s – Large – Speaker level connection only
3000 – Small -- Speaker level connection only – X-over = 40Hz
BPVXs -- Small -- Speaker level connection only – X-over = 60Hz
SC Refs – Y-adapter – Sub Out

David, i run nearly identical setup. 7001's are run full range, speaker wire only. 3000, bpvx and studio monitor 450's are crossed over at 60hz, speaker wire only. Two supercube references and one sunfire mkii are connected via LFE, using two y-connectors.

Right on,
I'm gonna run all speaker wire to eveything but the (2) Subs.
This sounds way easy. Question, I have a really good high quality pair of 17ft RCA's that I didn't use from my show car system. Can I split these RCA's and run one to each sub? Or dod I need a "sub rca"

Thanks

They should do fine.

If they cN handle the full range of audio frequencies then the sub frequencies wll be no problem.

fwiw, any cable can handle the full audio range ...and then some. ..a LOT of some

I hooked up both of my Supercube subs and seems like the only spot where the sub sounds good is everywere but where I sit. How do I fix this?

Using AVR-3608 and denon DVD-2910 two Supercube referance subs
