How do I connect this stuff

I have just purchased a Pioneer Plasma TV (5071) and a Panasonic DVD recorder.
I already have a Bose Lifestyle 28 sound system and a Sony VCR (quite old with just RCA connections).
Our cable company uses the Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300HD cable box.

How is all this connected if I want to record and play back using either the DVD or VCR? I also want to be able use the Bose DVD player.

Please help using basic terms.

I currently have the cable box/Bose system and TV connected so I can play DVD's but the new Panasonic DVD recorder nad VCR are not connected - yet

Thanks - Oxbridge

Your are going to have to run seperate video connections from the DVD recorder and from the VCR to the Plasma. Then connect audio to your Lifestyle 28. You may need to run an outboard video switcher if your TV doesn't have enough video inputs. The other option is Bose makes the VS-1 video expander for that system which should give you enough inputs for everything.

I'd try to talk you out of the Lifestyle 28 but you own it already so best to work around it.
