How and what to clean ?

I have a Mitsubishi DLP that has what appears to be a cobweb stretched from one end of the screen to the other. It is internal apparently, as are several dirty smudge marks.
Is there a lense of some kind that requires cleaning? and evidently a family of spiders needs to be evacuated !
I'd like to do this myself, but although I've been into about everything in my life, a DLP is not on the list !

I would assume that the smudges and webs are on the bulb or right after it but really have no idea. It is easy to check the bulb so start there.

Smudges on the bulb or even anywhere in the bulb chamber would not show up at all on the screen. Depending on the model, there may be two round access holes on either side of the set. If that's the case you might be able to reach in and remove the cobwebs and clean off any smudges on the mirror or lens with a soft microfiber cloth.

If there are no access panels you will need to a bit of disassembly to reach the inside.

Hmmmmm !!

Wellll.... I guess I cannot do this !
This set does not have the two round access holes. In fact the only removeable panel that looks like it will work is the rear lower panel, which has a factory seal tape on it. I have 2 1/2 yrs left on my warranty and so cannot break this seal.
I guess I'm paying for a cleaning!

I did look inside the bulb housing and there were several spider web strings visible even in that small area- there are probably a bunch of them inside this thing !

I'm thinking now that even if I get the webs cleaned out, they will return. I wonder how I can root the little b.....s out for good ? :p

Can you access it enough to blow it out with compressed air?
