helllo every one, i just got finished hooking up my home theater system. I am using a dlp projector for my picture and running the cable tv to my vcr to change channels. Everything is hooked up to the reciver via rca cables then the reciver sends the video single to my projector that cable is pure AV and all the rest are the cheap cables that came with the dvd, vcr, reciver, you know the idea. Any way I now have 2 horizontal lines about 12" apart that move from bottom to top of my picture over and over again. It is like the old atari systems lines if you remember. How do i get rid of them? Is it a simple as buying better high quilty a\v rca cables, upgrading reciver to HD and s-video, bad ground in power supply? Any ideas would be great that dont break the bank.

When does this happen exactly? When you are watching cable TV? DVD? VCR? or all?
I seriously doubt any of your cables are the cause of this.
It appears you have a ground loop that the video is picking up and displaying on the projector.
You need to unhook all the cable TV video and audio to your system, totally. Then, play a DVD and see if it still happens. If not, hook up the cable TV audio only. Lastly, the video. I bet that is when you will get the lines back?
Let us know as then there is an inexpensive cure:D
