Can you still return the Bose system? For the same price ($3k) we could help you design a system that will have connectivity with HDMI, way more I/O, and better sound.

Set-up an ebay account. You should be able to get most of your money back.:(

Trust me. Getting rid of those Bose would be the best thing to happen to your home theater. For the 3K you spent on that you could have a Denon 3805 receiver and a set of speakers that would sound 10 times better than those blose.
The digital audio will take care of all your audio.

Video connections

Right now, you are limited to the video connections on your TV for direct connection to the DVD and satellite box. Seperate 2x1 and 4x1 HDMI switch boxes are available from gefen and other manufactuers.

Not sure what audio inputs the bose has, but they are probably limited.

The Bose does has an Optical input, so that will take care of the audio. However, as far as video goes, the Bose will only do as high as S-Video. It will take component video as an input, but only with an adapter that turns it into S-Video. I would personally suggest that you sell the Bose system on ebay and opt for some seperate components, but that's up to you. However, with the Bose system, you will not be able to take advantage of HDMI because, to my knowledge, it does not have 12v signal outputs to operate a switcher.

As you might have already guessed, there is a distinct dislike for the name Bose in this forum. I assure you the other members are well intensioned and absolutely correct in their suggestion to get rid of the Bose setup.

The reasons are,
1) Sub-par performance for the price
2) Very limited connectivity
3) No scalability (in the future if you wanted to upgrade, you would have to get rid of the whole thing all together)

So why start off with a setup that is so poor in performance and limited in what you can do ?

Hold on a sec, there isn't just a distinct dislike for bose on THIS forum...but rather any person who takes home theater seriously has a dislike for bose. Thought i should make that clear :D
