Hooking up Desktop through my DENON AVR

I want to play streamed video off the net and the PS3 does not allow it due to not having the correct Operating System.
I have a Panny Plasma 50" which is connected to my Denon AVR 2809CI via a HDMI. My Dishnetwork 722 & PS3 are connected to the AVR via HDMI. Sirius Receiver and WII connected to AVR via RCA jacks.

My Desktop PC has the following OUTPUT connections:

Video: NVIDIA GeForce FX5200 video card is installed

S-VHS output
AVI DVI-Dual Link
VGA Connector - which feeds my monitor

Audio: I have my desktop speakers connected to the mini plug

RCA jack - Orange colored - is this Digital Output?

The desktop is in a seperate room from the AVR, and I was hoping to run this either through some COAX, Cat5 or a Tele line from the Desktop to the Receiver. Since the Room the Desktop is in has the following lines dropped to it:

  1. 4 -Coax
  2. 2 - Cat 5
  3. 2 - Tele

Which all go to a center panel that i can Route to my AVR in the other room. I

The thought is to turn on the desktop and display video and sound to the other room.

How could I take these Desktop outputs and run them through my AVR, and would there be any issue with Sound/Video Quality?

Thanks,,

You forgot the tell us the distance of the cable runs. That said, you can usually safely run them much, much longer than people think.

The Orange RCA certainly seems like it would be a digital connection. Might be an input or an output, though – you’d have to know this before attempting to use it. If it’s an output, that’s the one I’d use for audio. If not, use the 3.5 mm stereo jack with a 3.5-to-two –RCA- female splitter cable. Run any shielded cable rated for in-wall use that you can attach RCA’s to. Two of your coaxial cables will do the trick – again, if you have a way to attach RCA’s to them.

For video, if the TV has a DVI connection you could use that, again assuming it is an output.
