How would you hook up an EQ to my Yamaha Receiver and would it enhance the sound for my Vinyl listening?

Seriously, I have no life.
What's the prefix for that model? The Yamaha site doesn't have a manual for an HTR-6063.

If it doesn't have a tape record loop, it's not going to be easy and using the preamp out with the EQ before going to the main amp input is not how the equalizer was designed- it was made for the signal level that comes from the Rec Out jacks.

The only way an EQ can be used globally with a multi-channel AVR is between the pre-amp outputs and an outboard amplifier. If you’re only interested in EQ for a single component, you can insert it in-line between the source and AVR input: Turntable -> EQ -> AVR input.

As to whether a graphic eq will enhance the sound...maybe. Are you currently using the parametric eq built into your receiver? FWIW the parametric eq is a superior type over a graphic eq.
