Hooking up 2 subs

Currently I have a PB12-NSD sub and I am moving to a new place with the theater room increasing to about 20ftx35ft. I am now thinking maybe I should go with dual sub setup though I am not sure if it's necessary. Also, I have no experience on hooking 2 up. Would they be connected in series or by using splitter?

If you are going to be doing dual subs it is highly recommended that you use a unit like the Behringer DSP1124P with a calibration mic and REW in order to integrate the subs properly in your room.
