hook up question

I like using the pure direct mode on my Marantz, however it shuts down the sub output. Im wondering if I can hook my sub up the the B speaker outputs on the receiver? or will I do damage...

If you mean instead of using the sub out, you should be fine.

If you mean concurrently, all bets are off.

You can use the R&L preamp outs to the sub as they will be getting signal. That signal will be full range though, because the point of source direct is to defeat bass management and tone controls.
