Hook a computer to LCD TV

Dear all:
I brought LCD TV LC-26GA5U for my computer. After I hooked up the desktop display has went out of TV's Display range. Is there any option I can adjust to prove my current display? I wanted to use DVI as my input not S-Video, because of the resolution. Or I need to upgrade my Video Card, if so, which Video Card is compatible with LC-26GA5U LCD TV? I have tried different cables, Video Cards, but none of them seems to work. Thanks!

Use your current display and lower the resolution to something crappy like 800x600. You should be able to view this on your new Sharp TV. Once you do this, download and install Powerstrip (search for it on download.com) so you can set your own custom resolution. According to Sharp, the maximum resolution of your TV is 1366 x 768, which is what you want to set it at.

Thanks! I will try it tonight, and inform you the result!

The images and fonts are still not clear, when I used high resolution. If I used low resolution, the images and fonts are clear, but it's too large for the TV to display.?! Thank you!

You mean that at the resolution I stated...it looks like crap? That's very strange. LCDs look best at their native resolution.

AHA! I didn't read correctly. It's native resolution is: 1920 x 1080. That's according to the website. Try that out and report back.

Yes, at 1920 x 1080, the images and fonts are small and not clear. I have to be close to read and guess what the words are! If I choose low resolution, the images and fonts are clear but are too large to fit into the TV. Thank!
