Hi guys its my very first time posting here and I would like to get your opinions about these two home theater packages

Brand is Phillips
first one is Philips HTB5550
and the other is HTD5580

I usually listen to music specially Trap and House party type
play games as well using PS3/4 and movies

so guys need opinions on which one is better and do they have good specs to last many years and is it worth the purchase? TIA :)

Sorry, but the answer is neither. If you are using this for music you need to stay far FAR away from these all in one surround systems.

What is your budget?

I did a little research and is this the HomeTheater in a Box type?
and why is it bad for music? is there something wrong with the specs?
my budget is around $400- $800 not that much so thats why Im deadset with these two

and the reason Im buying a new setup is because the subout of my Sherwood 6506 receiver is currrently not working and may need to get checked by a tech

the speakers suck. Like some girls I dated in the past, pretty, but useless. You really can't use "real" speakers with the main unit and the specs are so overrated as to be a joke.

And, I could be wrong, but it looks like the woofer is he brains of the unit and contains all the major electronics. And, since all speakers are driven off that sub, that makes it impossible to upgrade or substitute. Likewise, that central unit is worthless without that sub and speakers. IOW, what you've got is what you get ...forever.

Personally, I'd take that money you have earmarked for this white elephant and repair or replace your "real" receiver and keep your existing speakers.

But, it seems you've got your mind made up. Enjoy, but don't come here expecting for any advice as to make it sound better. It can't be done.

Stay away from those things. As you mention your budget.. What is your old equipment? What speakers you have?
