I wouldn't say it's bad in my area. I see some around, maybe a little more recently, but I think many get some assistance. I can't remember what charity downtown you see a bunch of people waiting. I'm not sure if it's shelter, food, all of the above.
Anyhow, panhandlers I use to give to them all the time but it just nickel & dimed me to death. I still do it, but I go through phases of when I do and don't. I gave a woman $10. She had three kids with her, and to be honest she looked like she was on drugs. But hopefully it goes towards the kids. I figure I don't really know so at worst they'll be having a good time tonight LOL. How much of the problem is covid or themselves I'm not really sure but leaning toward the later. Ah well. A little hear and there.
