Hi Folks,
I am pretty new to the are of hi definition acoustics & home theatre systems. after years of listening to my telly speakers I am planning to begin setting up a home theatre system. Hoping to get some advise on my quest. I currently have a Denon 1708 AVR (got it from a friend that was moving overseas a year back), and am looking to gradually build a home theatre systems around it. my questions are as below:
1) Should I invest in an average 5.1 system or buy two good quality floor speakers
2) How would you compare a Revel F12 vs. a Hecko Celan
3) would my Amp have sufficient power for the above speakers
4) Any other advise or links would be great

What is your budget? What are your room dimensions (LxWxH)? What brands do you have available to you in Singapore?

1. Buying average isn't why you are on this forum. Good quality floor speakers would be what I would suggest and build from there.
2. Everyone has different opinions on what speakers they like. If you have the option, listen to them yourself. I haven't heard them so I won't vote either way.
3. Yes, the AVR should have no problem powering speakers.
4. Don't rush and plan carefully. Getting too excited is a personal fault
