So. I have had Onkyo flagships and Yamaha.. for receiver ends. I saw this sale:
Yamaha AVENTAGE RX-A3070 9.2-Channel Network AV Receiver w/ Dolby Atmos $1399.99 over at Adorama

This got me to thinking that it was time to upgrade...So I saw this:
M707 bundle #2 in cherry $2800
  • 2 x Polk LSi M707 Floorstanding Loudspeakers
  • 2 x Polk LSi M703 Bookshelf Speakers
  • 1 x Polk LSi M706c Center Channel Speaker
  • 1x Yamaha AVENTAGE RX-A3070 9.2-Ch Receiver
And I thought hmmm. Any better solutions? I am suing this for music, home theater, and Video games.

Above number of 3200 is the budget. Thanks for your help :)

Don't buy speakers based on price, buy them cause you like the sound of them. Then decide if the price is good enough.

I haven't listened to a Polk speaker in many years, but I used to like the sound just fine, but I found something I liked better that fit my budget better.

Do you have any shops you can demo some speakers at? Well, that aren't best buy...

I've heard polks and the were nice. I've heard klipsch and they were ok. But past that not really.. I live almost two hours away from a place that would demo them. I'm in a rural farm area... people here are like... atmos? LOL
Thanks for your prompt reply.

The LSI series typically gets good marks from most, definitely a little power hungry for moderate listening levels.

I dont see a sub mentioned? I'd get the best front 3 you can afford, same for the sub and anything that's decent for the surrounds.

So best front speakers then sub? Any suggestions? Is the av receiver a good deal?

You said you've had AV receivers in the past, do you have one currently? I ask because it could fit the bill fine and allow funds for better speakers.

What percent movies/music will this system be used for?

Without a subwoofer, that system won't be amazing, at least for movie playback. Those Polk towers ought to do OK for bass, but they won't be spectacular. I wouldn't buy a system just cuz its a good deal. I would decide what I really want in a system and then go after that.

I see. I am planning on using this 60/40 Movies to music. I will hunt for a good deal on a sub woofer. Like I said I am not set on this deal. I am looking for some advice to meet my budget for good speakers that will last. I would like to include atmos etx...
