Home Theater Set Up - Need Help

Hi All,

I have very limited knowledge on AV receivers and speakers. After reading some posts and reviews, I have decided to go with below Home Theater configuration.

AV Receiver: Denon 1912 or Yamaha RX V671
Front: Polk RTI A3
Center: Polk CSI A4
Rear: Polk FXi A4
Sub: DSW PRO 550 or Velodyne Impact 10

Is my above configuration is good enough for Music and Movies ? My drawing room size is about 22X15.

Which one is best for my config, Velodyne Impact 10 or DSW PRO 550 ?

Thats a very decent & capable system. I wouldnt go with either sub however. Id be looking at an Emotiva Ultra-10 or BIC F-12 instead. Or if you really want a good sub look into HSU VTf-2 MK2.!!! The HSU will REALLY be the icing on the cake for both movies & music!!!

Otherwise i think you'll be very happy with the rest!

timoteo, thanks a lot for the inputs. I think I cant get Emotiva Ultra-10 or BIC F-1 in India and I have to stick to brands like Klipsch, Jamo, Polk, Paradigm, Velodyne, Tannoy, Wharf here.

Considering this can you suggest me a good sub among these brands ?

I know that internet sellers like Emotiva, HSU, SVS, Rythmik etc ship overseas (i think..?) so i wouldnt see getting on from them being an issue. However the price on the shipment may not be worth it. I dont have experience with this so maybe someone else can chime in with info. But i would at least call one of these sub manufacturers & ask. I have dealt with both Emotiva & HSU, both companies get an A+ from me when it comes to customer service. So im sure they could work something out with you.

As far as helpong you choose a sub from one of the mentioned brands id have to say we need more info to help.

1. List these in the order of what will be used most. Movies, Music, Tv

2. What is the size of the room? (W x H x L)

3. Is it a closed room or open to other areas? If open please list size of attached rooms.

4. Budget?

With the answer to these we can help much more thanks!!
