Home Theater Seating

Hi everyone, I was wondering what kinds of home theater seating people were using and some good places to find them. My planned space is 15x30 and I already have all my electronics picked out. If anyone has any advice please let me know. Thanks!

Finding decent HT chairs is a big problem. I did a lot of research in this and the Montana chair came out way on top.

These are comfortable and have been very durable. I installed them five years ago.

You can get a quote here.

And also from this outfit.

One thing that drives me nuts is the fact that most of these chairs, including ones I've seen at 2-channel dedicated audiophile listening system shows, is the fact that the headrest drastically alters frequency response and imaging by adding reflections immediately next to your head, and also by blocking sounds coming from elsewhere (as they would both in the natural world and in a surround system environment).

They are fine and dandy for comfort, but to purchase these after having spent great money on components, interconnects, etc, is just a very uninformed thing to do. It's a crime that these are often sold by the same clowns that upsell unwary buyers into expensive components. The dealers are either ignorant about Audio (not excuseable if that's your job), or they are savvy about how to seperate you from your money.

Recline them a bit and it works fine!
