Home Theater RX choice?

I have been shopping for an HT receiver and doing a lot of homework online. I am considering Denon and Yamaha, but I recently came across a closeout on the Harmon Kardon AVR 7200. I am also considering the Yamaha RX-v1400 and the Denon AVR-3803. The AVR-3805 sounded interesting, but not worth the price difference over one of the others, and then having to pay extra for the setup mic. Also, the remote problems I am reading about in this forum doesn't sound encouraging.
Any suggestions regarding the other units mentioned above? The HK sounds like a good deal if I start remodeling my component rack now so that the 21 inch deep case will have room when it gets here. What about the Denon AVR-3803?
I am using Infinity RS5b mains (1980's vintage with EMIT tweeters), an Infinity CC3 center channel, and Infinity RS2000's in the rear. Note: The 5b's are 6 ohm if that makes any difference. HK tech support says that I can use them with the AVR 7200 even though it specifies 8 ohm speakers. I use the system about 50/50 between music and DVDs.
Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

home theater

The Infinity speakers might be 6 ohms nominal, but they are likely to drop below that at some frequencies. And they like power. They are great speakers, especially when provided sufficient power. The smaller ones are fairly efficient, but the larger ones are less so, but have a smoother response.
I would get a receiver/amp which can handle 4 ohms easily, due to Infinity's propensity to have lower than specified impedance. My Kappa 9s have less than 2 ohms at certain frequencies, are rated at 4 ohms!!

I have the Yamaha RX-V1400 and love it and I almost bought the 3803 before choosing the Yamaha. I really liked both receivers but Yamaha's YPAO made my decision easy.

HOWEVER, the H/K AVR7200 is an awesome receiver. If you can do without a couple of brand new features like YPAO auto calibration and DPL IIx and maybe a couple of new DSPs (useless IMO) then I would probably get the H/K. It's was their flagship model and can now be had for well under $1K. I think they were selling for about $800 on closeout. That's very hard to pass up. If they had been closed out when I bought a receiver, I would probably have the AVR7200 right now.

If you're worried bout the impedence of your speakers, go with NAD. Their T753 and T763s are right around that price range and should easily match if not beat the performance of the other receivers. Not quite as many features, but the amp sections are superior and are rated for speakers with lower impedence. Try www.dmc-electronics.com, they have some NAD deals.

Decided on the AVR7200

I had given up on this post and went ahead with the HK AVR7200 in mid-July. It is huge, heavy, and can produce a fair amount of heat after it has been running a while, but it sounds great with my Infinity speakers. I have been equally satisfied with movies and music from this receiver.
For once, it appears that I made a timely decision. For several weeks, One Call had been showing this receiver low stock. This past week, I tried to access the web page that I had bookmarked so that I could save some of the specs and technical info from the One Call site and I got a "product not found" message. Same at the HK site. Finally heard about a good deal before it was gone.

Thanks,

Scott
