I have noticed that there are many different price points in projection screens. I know little about them. What do you gain as you go up in price? Is a screen not just a screen?

Some of the cheapest screens on the market suffer from very poor build quality. This may include not being truly 16:9 in size, off of square, use poor parts which fall apart quicker, or, the worst I have seen, reflect light in a pattern that creates sparkles of rainbow like color. Horrible!

There are some, such as the on-wall fixed Carada screens which are, in my experience, a phenomenal bang for the buck.

When you get to the mid-priced stuff, such as Draper and Da-Lite (I prefer Da-Lite), you start getting some very well built motorized products.

At the high end, you get Stewart. Stewart simply delivers quality. They can make a screen to fit about any need you can dream up, and do it well. They use premium products, and solve any of the impossible to solve dilemas.

My go to recommendation is Carada - Brilliant White - Criterion - 1.78:1 (16:9) screens.

Cool. I'm not buying one, I was just curious. So outside of motorization and all, it's mostly build quality?
