Home Theater - Need Help

Recently completed a theater room - HK receiver, Epson 8100 projector. Everything was running perfectly. Needed to finish up some outlet covers etc and unplugged the HDMI from the projector. Now I can't get it to work again! Screen says HDMI Not Supported. The HDMI cable is a Monster cable about 30 feet long. If i plug in my laptop using a 6 ft cable to the projector it works fine. But if I take the same computer and plug into the 30 ft cable I get the same "not supported" message. What gives? Why would it work for 3 weeks and then stop?

Could be a handshake issue. Did you try powering things up in different order? I have to power my Benq up last in order for it to work every time.

Did you unplug it while power was on, on equipment was in stand-by?

Yes projector was on...
Not only is it a bad idea to make connections with equipment on, it is a bad idea to make connections while equipment is plugged-in.:(

Don't know what is damaged, but something is.

Even if you come out of this without anything wrong, which I hope you do, make connections while equipment is off, and disconnected from power in the future.
