You'l need some power
Hi,
From experience, you will need at least about 2 x 400 watt speakers to fill the room.
Active speakers are very nice as you do not need a power amplifier, but if you are looking at good sound quality, I suggest a 12" speaker, that should provide you with a good range, all though not as bassy as a sub, but to *** a sub you have to look at a crossover aswell, to split your single between the
speakers and the subs.
I agree Mackie is very good. You could go for a Beringer Mixer, and Wharfedale Pro speakers , these will come in a bit cheaper than the Mackie, but still deliver good sound quality.
I suggest a Shure microphone, as you do not want the speaker to sound like a cartoon character. Maybe a PM58 if you are on a budget, all though the
SM58 would be better.
Remember if you do use subs, do not put them to far from each other, as this might cancel out the frequency. In the center at the front works best.
If you can elivate your speakers, this will allow the sound to "travel" further in the hall.
Good luck.
