Home stereo audio cable - what type?

Greetings,

I recently purchased a new TV (Samsumg 37" UN37EH5000 1080p 60Hz, LED HDTV). My goal is to connect the audio output from the TV to my receiver (Yamaha RX-V659).

I assumed on the TV this would be a standard digital audio out, the kind you connect with an RCA-type (or is it called coax?) connector.

However when the TV arrived, it had an audio connection I was not familiar with. See the attached photo. It's the one in the middle labeled "audio out." At first I thought it was a cover or protective plug, but it won't come out. Also my RCA style cable does not fit.

What type of cable fits this connection? Does someone have a link of where I can get one (monoprice.com)?

As a backup you'll see it also has a optical audio out, so I can always get one of those cables (TOSLINK, right?) to connect the audio.

Sorry for the newb question. Any info y'all have would be great.

Thanks!

It is a cover, but you don't remove it. When you insert the optical cable, the cover swings inward as the cable is inserted. Your Avr probably has plugs you need to remove though..

Hi. After looking online, that "AUDIO OUT" jack that you asked about appears to be a 3.5mm (i.e. headphone) jack for analog audio output. The optical output will be better, though, IMO.

Thanks Adam! You are right, it is a 3.5mm headphone jack. Which kind of surprised me being on a good TV. So I'm going to go with the optical digital audio cable instead. Thanks to the other posters for the links.
