That picture is just a four wire cable ...

The specs indicate 14-2 which is only 2 wires "GENERAL CABLE 500 Ft. 14-2 In Wall Sound & Security Cable

Model E1052S.18.10

$139.00/RL Roll"

What kind of connectors do you have on your system? If they are wire binding posts, mark one lead as common and on lead as hot and connect the hot (usually red) on speaker to the hot (usually red) on receiver. Likewise connect the ground (black) the same on speaker and receiver.

If the wires are not color code or otherwise marked you will need to ohm them out to make sure the wire you connect at one end is the same as the wire you think you are connecting at the other end.

If you need a RCA type connector, carefully solder two leads. Usually the outer shell is negative(black) and the inner pin is postive(red).

With the 4-wire cable you can connect two sets of speakers, but I think Home Depot's picture is incorrect and you only have 2 wire at 14 gauge whichis a good gauge for almost all speaker wiring.

Wire On, :D

4 conductor cable is for "bi-wiring" and is unnecessary, but not harmful in anyway. 2 conductor cable is the norm and would be easier for you to hookup. With the 4 conductor cable, just twist two wires on each end together to form two pairs on each end (twist the same two on both ends) and then attach to the correct speaker terminal (+->+, minus->minus), again, matching on both ends.
