Hi,
I am considering setting up the following system:

1. Toshiba DLP 52 "(currently have) has HDMI 1.1

2. Onkyo TX-SR605 HDMI 1.3

3. DVD player with HDMI 1.1

I would like to know if there will be an issue connecting the Onkyo receiver (HDMI 1.3) to my TV with 50 ft HDMI cable. I have plans to purchase it from monoprice to connect the receiver to the TV. Second question, will there be an issue to connect the DVD player to the Onkyo receiver. Any help would be appreciated...

Thanks

HDMI cables

HDMI cables can have issues with distances over 20-30 feet. Monoprice has very resonably priced cables and I have good results with their analog and digital audio cables. You might check their return policy before purchasing the cable in case it doesn't work.

The short DVD to receiver connection should be fine and the cable that came with the DVD or a monoprice cable should work fine.

I also know bluejeans says their cables are good to runs of up to 50 feet and in a month or so my dad will be running one of 40. So you might want to check them out too.

I've used monoprice HDMI runs up to 35ft that worked fine... that said, the longer the run, the more potential there is for error with the HDMI spec. If you cannot set the source/AVR closer to the TV, you may want to consider adding a repeater in between.
