I'm building a home arcade cabinet using car speakers and an amplifier to power them. I have JBL GTO 429 2 way 4" car speakers. These speakers are 105W peak power, 35W RMS and recommend amp RMS of 5W-50W. They have 3 ohms impedence. I've tried reading up on the W, RMS, Peak power, ohms, etc and its just too much to figure out for me. The recommendations for these cabinets were for lower wattage and cheaper speakers (not a brand readily available in canada either) with a pyle home amplifier. I looked at a similar amp on amazon.ca, but cant figure out if it has enough power or if it'll blow out the speakers, etc.
Pyle-Home Pta2 Mini 2 X 40-Watt Stereo Power Amplifier. 2x40w max 10-Percent rms at 4-ohm
This is between 5W and 50W RMS recommendation, correct? Will this be more than enough or does the 105W Peak on the speakers matter at all? What about being above the 35W RMS (assume the 40W on the amp is RMS) on the speakers? Any recommendations or someone able to give me a little guidance on how to pick a home amp for these speakers?
