Yesterday I was coming down the stairs and heard/felt some huge rumbling and thought "holy sh1t what was that!!!".
It was my sub and wife's nephew watching Bolt. :D
Normally when I watch movies it's after my daughter has gone to bed so I tend to keep the volume down. Apparently the little ankle bitter thought he needed to turn it up to drown out the adults in the other room.

Anyway the purpose of posting this embarrassing little anecdote is that if anyone is looking for a ~150$ sub you really can't go wrong with the Dayton 120.

/Rewatching the Matrix next time I get the house to myself.

A good system demands to be listened to at high volume. I love my sub at reference.

Speaking of embarassing stories. I put on Wish You Were Here last night at my favourite volume and then did a quick run to dump the trash. Coming back up the hallway of the building, I could hear my system blasting from the far end of the hall. Its a good thing my apartment is poured concrete on all sides otherwise I would be out on the street by now.

That sub isn't too bad at all, especially for the price.

I used to have a POS JBL sub that had to have the gain at 8 (out of 10) to get any useful bass in my room. So one day I upgraded to a SVS NSD 12/2 and foolish me thought that I would have to have the gain at 8 like the JBL. And what was my first test scene after I hooked it up and turned it on....yep The Darle Scene from "Findinng Nemo" I think I broke all kinds of land speed records rushing to the reciever to turn the volume down before my bay window came crashing down under the pressure. So I reach the volume know tunr down the system just in time to hear a loud crash. Yep a glass picture in the bathroom had come crashing down. Mt GF was screaming up a storm and there I sat like this. :D

I know keep the gain at 3 and it is more than enough, and like you, "Bolt" has some awesome scenes to test out. My facvorite scene from that movie is the heavy bass explosion you can't hear. You just see the explosion across the lake and hear a small "boom" off in the distance and then seconds later see the paper cup tip over. I was laughing hysterically over that one.
