HK receiver input issue!!!

Harmon Kardon AVR 7300. Currently I have my sat. dish, HK DVD player and Xbox 360 hooked up through my HK via component video. I have a few other components (Tivo for media server and outdoor video camera) that I would like to add to a few of the regular RCA inputs but I have an issue. When I hook anything up to the regular RCA inputs, they don't work. I'm wondering if you can't use both component and RCA at the same time on this flagship receiver? And yes, I am using different input numbers. Right now I'm using 1, 2 and DVD for the component setup. I tried using 4 for the tivo\camera but it doesn't seem to work. What's really strange to me is this...with or without the xbox\camera plugged into the receiver, if I choose input 4, I get the display from input 2. This is true of all other not currently hooked up inputs. They all display video from input 2. Does anyone have any ideas?

The HK should give you the ability to assign inputs to different functions. Also, with funcitons that have multiple inputs, like DVD which has component, s-video, composite, there is usually priority to the better inputs, so it will use component if connected and only if it does not detect signal there, it will look for s-video, then composite. But this is not the case with you since you are using different functions.

It sounds like the receiver is not detecting the xbox\camera signal. So it is defaulting to the input on which it last detected video signal.

The other option is that in settings options, input 4 is it is always defaulting to input 2 for video. Look into video assignment options. My Denon has the same capability where I can mix and match audio and video inputs.

Thanks!!

Thanks Agarwalro. That was the exact fix I needed. Sometimes it's the simple things that get past you. :)
