HK dpr 2005?

I was looking at purchasing a pioneer 1015tx for $499. but I can get a HK dpr 2005 for $100 more. (all CDN. $)

Does anyone think this is a good deal? any insight, opinions would be appreciated.

Also I would like to hear from any dpr 2005 owners and thier opinion on this receiver.

That HK is a "digital path" receiver that is no longer available from HK.

For a more traditional, proven amplifier design, look for a Yamaha RX-V2500 or Denon 3805 in your price range. Both are are better than the pioneer 1015.

Also HK 635 which just dropped into the $500.00 range at various retailers.

I'd search the forums. There are a few reports of this peticular HK unit performing poorly compared to traditional analog amplifiers.
