HK AVR 635 speakers

I am getting the Harman Kardon AVR 635 reciever. I heard Infinity complements this receiver well. I tried the Infinity, Polk, and Bose cubes last night. I thought the Bose speakers sounded best, but reading a couple message boards leads me to believe that Bose is not well liked around the audio community? Is this true and why? If anyone has suggestions on their favorite speakers, I would appreciate it. I am looking around the $1200 to $1400 range.

Were you able to A/B them all back to back?

It can be tough to make a comparison with out it. Use music only for listening tests. These are some guidelines that I try to follow.

I would suggest B&W's 300 series speakers, PSB's Alpha series, DCM speakers...
