HK AVR 347/ deep color support?

Hey all, this is my first post around here so I'll try and keep it brief. I recently jumped the gun and bought a Harman Kardon AVR 347 for my family room home theater. I hadn't done enough research into new surround formats and HDMI v 1.3 or else I would have gotten something else. Don't get me wrong, so far it sounds great. I'm not so concerned about lossless surround, as long as my Blu Ray can decode it and send it out as multi PCM over the HDMI, I should be alright with the HK being HDMI 1.1/2? However, I'm wondering about deep color/ xvycc capabilities and using it as a video switch. It has upscaling, but older chip set, so it only ups to 720p, but the manual says that it will pass 1080p source material through, in its original high res format to the monitor. Does anyone know if this means that it will pass deep color through when it becomes available, or will I have to run an HDMI from the Blu Ray to the Monitor that does have an HDMI v 1.3 input?
Thanks for any input.

LOL! The HK 347 can`t even do HDMI video properly (sparkles, dropouts, etc...) let alone deep color.

Powerwindow,
Make sure you have the latest firmware; H/JK just let out a revision in March of this year. Looks like Bluesmoke likes to blow, well you know.

The firmware will not upgrade the unit to 1.3 but in all honesty no movies (yet) or even many televisions or projectors do deep color. Not that it would be nice. The down right quality of the H/K line has always drawn me to them, not the bells and whistles which other companies flaunt. Video processing will most likely not be done by many of the receivers who flaunt this feature. HD audio is really what you should be concerned with in this reveiver, or (at the time) lack there of. If you want deep color capability get a BD player capable of it and connect it directly to the TV (which also has to be capable of it). Then connect a digital cable from the player to feed the receiver with. I would doubt many will ever see a difference in a true viewing environment, at least with current offerings. First take time and if required pay money to calibrate all your equipment properly. Make sure to take time with speaker and sub placement, read the importance of it here. Then if that is still not good enough start thinking about upgrading in a few years. Heck maybe by then some movies will be out which can actually support it all.

Lets look at reality:
See this link about deep color definition.

See this link about deep color availability.

Hope this helps.
