What is the difference between these two receivers? I compared the specs and do not see any major difference.

Does the HK website has a 'compare' feature on it as some do? That might be the best way, unless you study all its features and compare line by line.

H/K has in the past just changed the # of a model to keep the models #'s uniform or something. I think an AVR 440 became a 445. That info is from their web site.

So maybe they just switched #'s. Maybe not.

They differ in features: I believe the HK146 does NOT have HDMI & no upscaling. The HK147 has 2 HDMI1.1 inputs & 720p upscaling. Other than that, they are pretty much the same.
