HK-635 or Pioneer 1015? Or something else?

I just pulled the trigger and bought a SVS SBS-01 5.1 system. (With the intention of later this year buying the MTS-01 pair). My question is what receiver now? I had been debating about the HK-635 and the Pioneer 1015. They both seem to be highly recommended. The problem is the HK is selling it seems in the upper $600 where the Pioneer is right at $500. I'd take the pioneer in a heartbeat, but I am afraid the lack of Lip Synch correction would be noticeable. Although, I have noticed a lip synch issue with my current receiver it doesnt seem to be a common occurence. So I could just be sweating something that really is not an issue?

That being said, I need a 7.1 and 3 digital inputs (Mainly for movies). Ideally I would like to stay in the 500-550 range. Are there any other recievers that can be recommended? Or should I stay with 1 of the 2 above? Is the 635 worth it for $200 more?

Any Help is appreciated.

How about the Onkyo 603s does that compare to these 2 at all?

I'd take the 635 over the 1015 any day of the week. The 635 would probably be closer to the Onkyo 703. The Onkyos are very respectable. You might also look at the offerings from Denon and Marantz.

I own the 1015tx and I say that you should go for the AVR635 without any reservation. The 1015tx is a great unit, but it's not in the same league as the HK.

You say you would take the 635 over the 1015, but is it really worth 200 more? I understand the 635 is the better unit but is it 200 better?

the 635 is great. I just got mine setup and am still doing minor tuning but the thing is very powerful. My friend has the Onkyo 702 and while I like his receiver a lot it's 100 watts per channel sounds notacibly less powerful than my 635 rated at 75 watts per channel.

I'm also looking at the denon 3805 which you can find for the price of the HK-635. Thoughts?

In the $500 range I believe the Yamaha 5890 gets mentioned a lot.

Correction, there are no authorized online dealers for Yamaha's RX-V line. That is a B&M dealer only line.

Be sure to check with the manufacturer of any products (of this type) you buy on line. See if they are authorized and would the manuf. still honor the warranty.

It could take a great experience (buying a receiver), and turning it into a nightmare!!

Vist HK's eBay store
Harman Direct...Great to do business with and your buying from the manufaturer. They have great customer service.

Also, I saw a Yammi 2500 on U-bid for cheap
