Hk 354?

I'm a few weeks into the process of finding a new receiver and was wondering if the HK 354 is one I should reconsider. It seemed to fit the bill until I read about it having a number of issues. Has HK fixed the issues or should I stay away? I DO NOT want a problem, but I'm intrigued by the sound quality and price of this unit.

I've kind of zeroed in on the Denon 1909, still considering the Yamaha 663, but really want the Marantz 5003 (don't know if I can wait for this one because of the $).

Would anyone recommend the HK 354?

Any opinion on any of these receivers would be greatly appreciated.

It appears HK fixed 95% of the issues associated with the x54 series. I think they're excellent values for the money.

If you really want the Marantz 5003 then save your money and get it.

Don't settle for something else. I really wanted my Onkyo 705 and just held out until I could.

Patience is greatly rewarded and sometimes the wait is half the fun.

Don't waste your money and save up to get what you really want. Otherwise you will still be wanting it.

Oh and there is always ebay and CL. Sometimes the stuff you want pops up at a very low cost.
