When I read that about the GedLee Abbey, I almost bought the SHO-10 just for that!

I don't know. I may just buy them to try out. :D
I'm sure they're "almost as good as the Abbey" just like a Revel F12 is "almost as good" as a Revel Salon. :D ;)

Maybe the F12 is 85%, F32 is 90%, F52 is 95%, & Studio2 is 99% of the Salon2. :D

Talk about point of diminishing returns! :D

The Q900 is 85% of the 207/2.

The Q900 is 80% of the Blade.

The Phil2 is 99% of the Phil3, which is 99% of the Soundscape 8, which is 99% of the Soundscape 10, which is 99% of the Soundscape 12. :D

Thought of the day:

Don't believe everything you read on the interwebs....
Are you saying you're not impressed with the Abbey? I've never heard any Gedlee speakers, so all I have to go on is what I read. It's certainly not a sexy speaker, but sound wise, the reviews seem to be good.

I'm thinking Matt isn't 100% sure about the SHO-10 being 90% of the Abbey. :D

Can't blame Matt. I mean a $395 speaker being 90% the performance of a $3,000 speaker is a tall order.

This.

I suspect there is a very good reason a speaker designed and built by Dr. Gedlee is $6k a pair and a speaker designed and built by an amateur sub-woofer reviewer is $800.

Okay. I wasn't sure what way you were going, but yeah, that makes sense.

How do you like your new kefs?
My KEF 201/2 (5.1 system)? They are awesome. Absolutely amazing. I wish I had a much bigger room so I can utilize my 6th KEF 201/2 (6.1), which is currently in the closet. :D

Love the way they look and sound.

I think Gedlee speakers are overpriced..
it's perhaps $500 in drivers and XO cost compared to $200 or so in SHO-10.
the baffle is handmade and is the main cost driver. But with SEOS waveguides now available, the value of the Gedlee baffle is questionable IMHO.
