One of my favorite stations is adopting this and I just heard about this?

Was I asleep or what? I see where it's available in car stereos and some "table" radio sets but 'm surprised I don't see any home audio receivers/tuners offering this. I don't think I've even read where they plan to.

Is this another answer to a question that nobody asked, like AM stereo was?

Personally, I'm curious about this. In my area there's quit a bit of action on hte FM band and if they can get away from compression and start using decent sources t hen I see that as a good thing.

Of course, if they kill off the FM band it'll be a moot point.

No responses yes?

Interesting. News to me too. Are they using the same FM band?

no responses here.

But I got a bunch of useful responses on the general forums at both Audio Asylum and Audio Review.

I guess when it comes to asking questions here I just don't rate.

Thanks for the post!

I didn't even know this was available, I guess with everybody pushing Satellite Radio it's no wonder this technology has gotten no attention.

I would like to see this in Canada as well but I have a feeling that this technology will likely make a slow transition over several years if not 10 yrs or more. Integrating this tech. into new receivers shouldn't be hard but it's the infrastructure behind it that will be the challenge.

It hasn't gotten attention. The radios with digital FM tuners are so damn expensive. If they would just come down in price I might have to buy one.

Receiver HD FM Tuner

The new Yamaha RX-V4600 can receiver the HD FM signals. From what I unterstand, they offer a higher quality signal than analog FM with quality comparable to satellite radio. They also use less bandwidth to transmit the signal.
